Why Packing Material Matters for Your Move

The quality of packing material directly affects whether your goods reach the new location in the same condition they left. A poorly packed television inside a thin carton will not survive three hours on a highway. A mattress wrapped only in plastic wrap will collect moisture in rain. Kitchen glassware placed loosely in a box will arrive in pieces.

We take a practical approach. Before deciding what material is needed, we ask what is being packed. A move with mostly clothes and books needs different material than one with a full kitchen, multiple appliances and fragile décor. Getting this right at the packing stage saves the headache of dealing with damaged goods at the delivery end.

Packing Material We Provide

• Corrugated Cartons (Single and Double Wall): Sized for clothes, books, utensils, electronic accessories and general household items. Double-wall cartons for heavier items.
• Bubble Sheet: Air bubble rolls for wrapping electronics, glassware, ceramic items and fragile decorative pieces. Provides cushioning against impact during loading.
• Foam Sheets and Foam Rolls: Used for flat items like plates, picture frames, mirrors and computer monitors. Also used as layer padding inside cartons.
• Stretch Film / Cling Wrap: For wrapping furniture drawers shut, protecting upholstered surfaces and bundling soft goods. Prevents scratches on painted wood surfaces.
• Sealing Tapes (Brown and Fragile Label): Heavy-duty BOPP tape for carton sealing. Fragile-labelled tape to identify boxes needing careful handling during loading.
• Corner Guards: Cardboard corner protectors for furniture edges, glass tabletops and framed artwork that would otherwise chip on corners during transport.
• Moving Blankets: Thick padded blankets for wrapping large furniture — wardrobes, sofas, dining tables — to prevent surface damage.

How We Decide What Material You Need

If you are booking packing service along with shifting, the material planning happens as part of the pre-move survey. Our team walks through the items, notes what is fragile and what needs wrapping, and brings the required material on packing day. You do not need to arrange anything separately.

If you are doing the packing yourself and only need material supply, call us with a rough list of what you are packing. We will suggest the quantity and type of material needed and deliver it to your location ahead of your move date.

Packing Guidelines by Item Type

• Electronics: Wrap in bubble sheet first, then place in a fitted carton with foam padding on all sides. Mark as fragile.
• Kitchen glassware: Each piece wrapped individually in foam sheet, packed with paper cushioning between items, sealed carton.
• Books and documents: Double-wall carton filled to capacity (loose books shift inside and damage each other). Seal tightly.
• Clothes and soft goods: Large cartons or vacuum bags if reducing volume. No special wrapping needed but seal cartons properly.
• Wooden furniture: Stretch film wrap over all surfaces, corner guards on edges, moving blanket over the full piece before loading.
• Mirrors and glass items: Foam sheet on both faces, taped in an X pattern for reinforcement, wrapped in bubble sheet and placed vertically — never flat — in the vehicle.
